Yes, Cypress is a tough call on borderline days like today. I wouldn’t risk it without a season pass, and I often make my decision on the morning of my ski day.
I generally use ECs hourly Vancouver forecast to predict when the rain may begin, combined with the detailed Cypress snow forecast to check their precip and freezing level predictions. I also check the current temp on Seymour’s website, since Cypress’ temp gauge is usually stuck at 0C. Lastly, I look up at the N Shore mountains to see if they are already enveloped in cloud and precipitation.
This morning it looked like a decent chance of sneaking in a couple dry hours (9-11 am) and it was a lucky guess.
