About 10 windfoilers and a couple of wingfoilers just north of JSC this afternoon. A few started on 7 and 6m^2 sails, I started on a 5.0m^2 (around 1:30? 1:45?). I think we all rigged down pretty quick, it felt like about 25 knots outside. 5.2 Flyers were popular, I rigged down to 4.2 Revo and could have gone smaller. I saw Dimitry briefly and I think he must have been on something under 4m^2.
It was pretty fun and I quickly got better at foiling while sheeted out, so even though I felt overpowered it was doable. The hardest part was trying not to launch immediately after waterstarting. Of course I fell in quite a bit which was tiring but overall it was a successful day. Note 1: pretty glad I put foam on the nose of my board. Note 2: I now have a Chinook Pro-flex mast base and it was great. Way easier for taking the mast on/off (land or water), and really prevents the board from flipping over while maneuvering the sail in higher wind and waves.
