Squamish this weekend

A mediocre day at Squamish. SW 25 wind at 2pm didn't last so had to re-rig my 7m kite up to a 10m kite for another hour in SW 16-20 until it tanked at 4pm. Only enough power to mow-the-lawn for 1.5hrs today.

Mike - hope you can nurse/prehab those injuries to a point where they no longer impede on your ability to sail often. Sounds like what you achieved in Flakas is a good step in the right direction. Definitely need to be cooking into the Spocks pretty fast for the second rotation to come around smooth.

Likewise - it's been great having another freestyler to bounce ideas/technique cues off of, looking forwards to future freestyle sessions come September!

Wind picked up aggressively from nothing, as shown on the graph, and 10mins after hitting the water I had to down rig from XL to M. Hard finding flat water with the tide rising quick, but found a pretty good place deeper in the river to work on Spocks. Some more good attempts, and crashes, but still no cookie. Slight progress on SB Vulcans but hard water state on that side. Just as the tide started coming in I managed to find some really good ramps for loops and got a pretty high one that Tony described as looking like a "windmill" from far, haha.

After about an hour, just as Dave and Sean showed up, the wind got super warm and gusty, probably the gustiest I've seen it all season... Tony described it as "mother nature taking a dump on us", which was pretty damn accurate, as him and I battled for several minutes to simply water start in the river..

Overall, an awesome summer with more progress, and broken equipment (3 booms, 2 footstraps, 1 UJ tendon and a tear in my XL sail) than I imagined were going to come my way, so super stoked. Great to meet and ride with familiar and new windsurfing faces. See you guys on the water in September!

Pictures always give you a different perspective of what you are doing out on the water!
Any chance I can download them from Flickr or somewhere else?
Thanks :D

You can download them from Flickr - pause the slideshow; click on the link to the gallery (top left corner); once in the gallery click on the picture you want; once it opens, right click on it and select the file size you want; return to the gallery and repeat if you want others. Hope the instructions make sense.

We have Sunday to Friday available for a wind road-trip and are waffling between Nitinat and the Gorge. Forecast is still a bit confusing for either, so I'm wondering if anyone else has plans or opinions on destinations?
