Last few times I've been out I've heard the barks of sealions but hadn't seen them up close until Saturday. There were at least 2 if not more hunting just off the end of the sand bank. Quite large, probably 200-400 lbs animals. I wouldn't mess around with them, you generally need a bunch of nasty shots if you get bit. These aren't the usual harbour seals we see all the time.
