I was out Saturday, first sail at Squamish this year. Crappy spring. Carried my windsurfer no problem on the inflatable, went on the front crosswise in front of the pilot.
I left my board fin off and had the board and mast in one package, and boom and sail as the other, Hawaiian carry style i think it is called. It helped to load quick.
I think I saw 6 or 7 kiteboarders on one Ferry load so there is decent capacity. During low tide the Ferry has more difficulty, and most had to walk back which Hawaiian carry would helps with for the windsurfers.
I don't think they used the Ferry in low tide because of the extensive sandbars on one side and river current on the other which will get stronger as the snow melts. Maybe they also need an ATV shuttle
Also imho sandbars seem to have grown more than usual over the winter? I wonder how things will change, will be interesting to observe over time.
I got lucky with a lift back on a jet ski but I don't expect that again next time...
High tides I think the Ferry will work very well and the worth is then invaluable.
