I've never seen anyone kite there, almost always big wind Shadow at shore or very funky wind anywhere you'd be able to launch from. Maybe at low tide by the campground but so many barnacles. By the diving site is mostly gravel but in that corner is funky wind with any direction. Also has current everytime I've been there that can make it difficult to get back in where there's still beach if it dies off.

Many years ago 911 and I would launch (windsurf) east of the huge lee created by the beach head east of the launch at Porto Cove. Access to this new launch as it would-be now but is still worth checking out. We would access Howe Sound just west of Britannia, where the highway drops back down to the water before traveling a short distance along the sound to Britannia. There was a beautiful area to park on a wide spot of the highway that may not be available these days. We would then pack our gear over the fence, through the bush 100 yards or so to the water, rig and launch there, with no land form interfering with the flow of wind. Turned out to provide immediate access to good wind. Often wonder about this launch though as i say it may not be possible today. I even used an abandoned bear day bed as a storage site for my gear and a near disastrous return trip by Chris through the train towel gave rise to his handle "911". Good luck with your exploration.
