Hey Chris, was Ebey landing the only spot that will pic up swell that comes through the strait or does JWSP too?

On a westerly swell at Joseph Whidbey can be huge. Inside is smooth. Outside swell can be slightly disorganized but really steep.

Hi Brad,

Both pickup wind swell fine. JWSP has better wind on a westerly for sailing. The 300' high ridge running parallel to,the shore at Ebey causes the wind to lighten close to shore on a westerly.

JWSP can get mast high on the really big days and logo high on the sub 4.0 days like this past Wednesday. The waves are fast and smooth and wrap towards Deception Pass.

Ebey landing is a more popular surf spot. The point break picks up groundswell the best coming down Juan de Fuca. There's a few videos of guys surfing clean 5-7' faces generated from groundswell in dead calm conditions with the sun shining on YouTube.

Cheers,

Chris
