When it's absolutely too cold

Day 49 - Yet another bluebird day with mostly hero groomers apart from a few patches of hard packs. Fun riding switch, hitting the quarter pipe, carving 360 and general sight seeing with LeopardSkin today.

Day 50 - Arrived late due to meetings. Forced to park in lot 3A only to discover today was a PD day. Surprisingly wait times for Lions and Eagle were only 5-10 minutes. No wait times for Raven. Groomers 30% scrapy almost everywhere except Windjammer was excellent for carving 360s.

Had a surprisingly great morning at Cypress. Heavy rain on the drive up which turned to mainly sleet in the parking lot. There was about 5-10 CM of wet snow at the bottom of the hill and 15-20 CM off piste near the top of the hill. The top of Fork and Jasey Jay was excellent but the snow was heavier lower down. In keeping with Cypress ineptitude this year, they only had the Eagle and Raven chairs running - so after the first couple of laps I stayed at Raven where there were no line-ups. Eagle became a zoo.

One staff said they couldn't open Lions as a grooming machine had broken down there. Another staff told me that the reason for the delay was that they had received 25 CM of snow on the upper parts of the hill and had to redo a lot of fencing. Lions finally opened at 10:30 AM and I lucked out being about the third one down Slash, then the fourth one on Moons on the next lap. There was a fair amount of moisture in the snow with some pinwheeling snow clumps, but very sweet on the fat skis.

Day 51 - After 3 consecutive days of sloth + gluttony (2 of the 7 deadly sins), I lustfully (another one) darted up to Cypress.

Dry morning. Bumpy runs on Lions. Good grooming on Eagle and Raven. Slushy but grippy groomers excellent for carving 360s especially when I get the entire run to myself.

Feeling much like Alton, I needed to hit the slopes today. Rather than suffer in fog and rain, I opted for an afternoon of cross-country
Got some great exercise on very quiet trails, and no rain :). I think my timing was lucky!
