Cypress

When it's absolutely too cold

Doug - if you're going up to Cypress today, can you please give me an OSR by calling 604-800-2770 ?

I'm worried about icy conditions. Hopefully the snow machines were on all night.

Afterwork session (2-4pm) to check out Cypress and test my P-Tex repair.

Cypress snow guns are full on filling in rocky patches. Way better conditions than over the past 2 weeks. Maelle Rickers, Panorama and Jasey Jay were acceptable today.

My P-Tex repair was not very elegant (looks like I gizzed candle wax all over) but it held up. Not bad for $1.20.

Lunch session (Toronto time) with Doug. Mix of hard pack corduroy and powder from snow guns. Tried all runs from Eagle chair and my favourite this morning is Upper Maelle Rickers + Lower Jasey Jay.

Francis arriving soon.

Back to work in the Lodge.

Wore my new glasses (progressive lenses) underneath my goggles this morning.

Wow - what a difference it makes to have 20/20 vision. Only problem is that glasses sometimes fog up.

Got to try contacts next time. Just can't stand using reading glasses over my contacts.

You can use OTG (over the glasses) goggles. Available from most brand names.

It was good to see Francis and Alton up at Cypress today. Some superb sections of corduroy - overall quite good. :D

So far the best day at Cypress this season. Excellent groomer corduroy conditions with lots of grip. Enjoyed the morning session with Tony.

Not as crowded as past weekends. Probably -10°C scared off the crowds.

Repeat tomorrow (Sunday).

Hero cord in the morning. A bit crunchy in the afternoon. Good coverage. No crowds. Yes, let's do it again tomorrow.
