Undecided between sailing and kitesurfing, Levi and I went round and round Parksville blocks with motorcycle to think it through. https://www.tiktok.com/@ariesjmanlig/video/7230978608943123717

But I think he’s had enough sailing after 7 hours of crossing Georgia Strait with 15 knots SE and .5 m wave.

So decided to go kitesurfing and surprisingly SE at San Pariel is really good. Reminds me of my days at 3rd ave

I grew up in San Pareil. When I lived there (long before I got in to windsurfing) I had a neighbour who windsurfed and launched from one of the local Sanpareil beach accesses. This would be late '80s. He'd sail half way out to Lasqueti Island. More than once the hovercraft which was stationed at Parksville beach stopped and checked on him. As the story goes, he'd be chilling out, sitting on his board in the middle of the Straight. I wish I had discovered windsurfing whileI still lived there.
