Nitinaht Summer.

Kitesurfing shop talk

by 8mdude » Mon Jun 05, 2023 3:05 pm

Summer has arrived in Nitinaht. Campground is pretty empty. I was pretty much to myself in the E section of the campground.

Friday was good day for windsurfing when I arrived at 4pm. Wind was at 25 knots SW -- super steady -- reminds me of why I love windsurfing.

But then Saturday and Sunday were pretty light for windsurfing so I ended up with kitesurfing these days. Wind was somewhere 15 to 20 Knots SW.

Internet? Not really working and cell signal is dead so not a good place for remote work.

Heading over June 9th-12. I’m wondering if the smoke is effecting Nitinaht Campground and also how has the wind been with all this sunny weather. I’m hoping Friday is a reset with the cooler temp.

Smoke everywhere — it’s the new way of life.

There’s a fire on hwy 4 today that I couldn’t go to China creek. Try hwy 18 instead through Youbou and Cowichan dirt road.

There was smoke in the morning last Tuesday but when the Thermal kicked in the air cleared up. Not sure if it's worse now...
