Thanks Dave.

Windsurfing is only possible on sandy ambleside, there are no boulders, no rocks, just sand, anybody can go @ low tide and inspect beach.

there is enough space to gain speed and jump as desired. Tide must be 3feet-9feet and incoming to have surf and hb must be 1.2m to have a good ramp.

I have to be clear as the guy that posted "ambleside is overrated and it's dangerous" just made a harmless jump challenge into a windsurf wave competition. I'll post when all of those variables come together.

Dave, first video I was coming back from Tofino, by 5pm after the ferry ride I passed by Ambleside, waves were small, missed that day (video mostly on pebble side). That was the last day Ambleside gave any surf, since then it's been WB.

Feb 25 2012 was a strange day (2nd video), i had many rides, sick as a dog, waves had no power.

David, that first video is radical. That dude had the perfect board and was scoring some beauty waves ! Love it.

I can't believe the period, six secondish, I have had lots of messier days in Westport. I have not seen White Rock with that kind of wave spacing.

I'll say again (cuz it was so good), the best session for me was sunset low incoming tide and waist high clean well spaced waves without a breath of wind. Surfed well into dark. Lights on land or moon was enough to see 2 hours past sunset. The icing on thte cake was phosflouresen in the water! Waves were glowing green ( which also made it easier to see incoming wave )!!!!!
It was one of my most memorable surf sessions ever. Right here in our beautiful litttle city.
Imagine if Vancouver island wasnt in the way?

I thought so too. :D

The second one looked more like a 'paddling' video to me - no surfing). But as Tweegster says it does show the conditions. :D

"Sure sounds like fun. I would be interested for sure. I now live in just outside Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast but would be more than happy to come over to photograph and see this jump. Couple days warning is more than enough time for me to plan and thank you for contacting me about this.
cheers

You may have to give up Acadia/WR when the strait is nuking and Ambleside is delivering surf. I just hope forecast is correct a day before. We are looking for 35 knots in the strait so it may be a while until it happens... just go easy on your remaining booms. 8-)

Sweet! Now let's hope it doesn't take until 2016 to get the right conditions
