Nexen Ocean Front

Windsurfing shop talk

by nicolas » Fri Jun 07, 2024 2:58 pm

Hello guys. Has anybody gone to Nexen lately?
Have not been there ever since it was closed off for the Ocean Front development. Is there enough convenient parking to be used to go windsurf there as before?
I'd like to know before heading up there
Thanks Nick

Hi Nicolas,

I went there last weekend to check it out.

It’s nice. Plenty of parking. There’s a paved lot and a gravel lot that is closer to the windsports launch beach. A nice grassy rigging area. No amenities (washrooms) yet.

I’m planning on going tomorrow and launching off the beach there.

To access gravel parking lot do you take the same road as before the development started?

Pretty much. Follow the neat nicely paved new road :).

The gravel parkade is just past the paved one.
