Weather Talk For BC no matter what you ride

Point Roberts today

Windsurfing shop talk

With the low tide and ESE winds I decided to check out Point Roberts today. Sailed between 1 and 2:30 with the 3.5/72L and W730 foil. Wind was mid twenties but had some big holes. I took the pic below when I first arrived and although I could see some bigger swell outside I was thinking things didn't look that big. I was a bit surprised when I finally got out there at the size of the swell. A bit intimidating at first but once I calmed my nerves it was super fun. I knew it had potential from my windsurfing days out there but this could be my go to spot for winging. It is unnerving on the outside at times but you can stay relatively close to shore and get some amazing rides with the swell that wraps the point. I did notice a big difference in the swell, it dropped a lot, when the tide turned around 2:30. I've attached the tide chart from today for reference. Highlight was sharing a wave with a harbour porpoise right near the shore. Looks like the wind has jumped up again, too tired for a second session though, hope someone scores a BBay session.

I got a short windsurfing session at BB this morning before the water disappeared. 17-18 knots, just enough for some plaining, nothing epic, but always nice to get out.
Michael, I saw a winger out earlier before 9am, was that you?

Hey Simon, glad you got out. Wasn't me, thought about going early but decided to wait and try Point Bob.
