Hello all,
I got a question for you.
Where do I get epoxy resin and fiber glass to repair my board here in Vancouver?

Basically this thing...
https://www.amazon.ca/Ding-All-Standard ... 176&sr=8-3

Tried Pacific Boarders and Boardroom and nothing. googling doesn't help much.
Thanks for any advice!

Coast Fiber-tek Products ltd.
1306 Boundary Rd, Burnaby, BC V5K 4T6

Anticipate that they will laugh, but they will treat you seriously, with the actual quantity of materials you need. It is an industrial supply shop! As for the epoxy resin, this is industrial stuff, and you'll likely buy way more than needed even in purchasing the smallest volumes available. No worries, you'll be okay afterward. You'll have spare for the next time...

Do read up on how to use, curing times, etc,. and how to wet the cloth as well. Sanding, swearing, etc.

That place, years ago when I dealt with them, were awesome. Lots of info.

I bought epoxy solarez from Coast Outdoors. Don’t see it on their website but you could give ‘em a call. https://www.coastoutdoors.ca/
Agree with arg though great to have proper epoxy, some repair cloth, and micro balloons on hand for proper damage. Oh and some spray paint and clear coat!

Swell Composites in Richmond is a local space for surfboard builders/repairs and supplier. They have everything you need, including epoxy, glass, tracks, fin boxes etc and often most important, tips & tricks.

Note: good surfboard epoxy is really expensive right now. it is designed to be optically clear, sand well and flow correctly for hand layups.

I use Coast Fibre Tek on Boundary. They focus on makeup and latex molds etc but also have fiber glass around back. A cool shop.

When I drive further a field I always carry epoxy, glass, JB Weld, foot pad material and industrial contact cement (not the hardware store variety that never holds) so I can stay on the water and not abort the mission.

Coast Fibertek also has Smooth-on 2 part urethane foams, which is really handy (and inexpensive) for heavier repairs, like making foil boxes, strap insert core reinforcements or even molds to make copies of your buddies favourite foil wing… ;)

I buy Barge contact cement at Lonsdale Leather Warehouse - 76th West 6th Ave in Vancouver. Work like the original glue...

The board lady has good repair examples with West system. Get the slow hardener, 206, gives you a bit more time.

https://boardlady.com/

She has examples of all possible repairs.
