What is the recommended mast length for a complete beginner to foiling?

70cm is probably the shortest people regularly use after learning but not too high to learn with. Can go smaller with some brands like slingshot.

Have a setup with 61cm mast for sale here

I suggest just learning on a full size mast, 85-95cm. The longer mast will give you more time to make pitch corrections than a stumpy 60cm mast that is super easy to breach. Most people never use their short masts again after the first session or two unless riding a really shallow water spot, even then I would still want a 75.

Very much agree with the previous post. I started winging in Oct and learned on a 85cm mast. For context I had no experience foiling before, but had sailing and surfing experience.

After I overcame the OMG moment the first few times getting getting up on the foil and the height, the extra mast length was helpful learning to control pitch and ride upwind through waves.

Thank you all for your replies, very helpful and much appreciated. I have an 85cm mast, sounds like it should work out.
