Weather Talk For BC no matter what you ride

Where do you windsurf?

Windsurfing shop talk

Until last year I used to windsurf mostly at the Squamish spit. Not anymore giving the current access only by shuttle. I did not try the shuttle but I think it is difficult to carry the heavy & bulky windsurfing gear.
Where do you go windsurfing this summer?
Thank you!

Agreed there is a bit of a walk but I can carry my 85l board, two sails, boom, mast, etc. I think a small wheeled device would make it easier.

The other option is leave your gear in the storage on the Island but that is quite full I understand

China Creek
Nitinaht
Columbia Beach
Clover Point
Tofino
Nimpkish Lake
Gordon’s Beach
Jordan River
San Pariel
Pipers Lagoon
Comox Goose Spit
The Gorge
Cape Sebastian
Pistol River The Rock
Manzanita
Spanish Banks

All for free — no membership required. Well except Nitinaht and China Creek where you’d pay to camp.

I go to the Gorge for three weeks in July to windsurf. Windfoil at Breakwater beach Harrison and Jericho in the summer.Boundary bay in the winter.Stopped going to Squamish when Nexen closed. Maybe foil at Porteau could be an alternative to Squamish?
