Sand Heads Sensor Today

Windsurfing shop talk

Was watching G-Spot and Wind on the Water today and noticed the Sand Heads Sensor showing 25 knots S for about and hour around 1PM today. Has anyone ever launched from the parking area on the South bank of the river where it meets the Strait at Ladner before?

I checked it out once last year on a SW day at high tide and it looked like you could launch in the river and head out but without knowing the depth of the water and what was below the surface I didn't try it. I want to get back there at low tide to see what is exposed and watch for the conditions to line up again and give it a shot. Darrell

Hey Darrel are you talking about here at the end of River Road? I've thought about sailing in the river there for really flat water sailing but I'm not sure about sailing in the straight.
I met the farmers that own that land there and they said it's really shallow and muddy from all the silt in the river and there can be a strong current from the river. They come over to Boundary Bay in the fall to hunt and I've talked to then at the boat launch a few times. I was asking them if I could sail there on a westerly as Chris mentioned some nice waves form near the Roberts Bank Port. It would be great to launch from the port but they have closed off the road.
