Thanks for the posting Ryan (I have gotten over the initial shock). :D ;)

That section of the beach of often called "Bossland" for the guy who likes sailing down there - the "Boss" shown below, but I've never seen him walking up the beach. Is the 'walker' someone else?

Lucky!!! Hope our paths cross, my window of opportunity open on June 24 (10 days after the event).

Curious about the beach profile at 'the rock' - last summer there was more shore break and less outer sandbar break. How's the outer break? How's the shorebreak?

Also curious if you are using Rip Curl GPS surf watch or something else to plot your trax?

Hey Dave, that guy was sailing today, he stays upwind and doesn't need to walk. The guy who walks is also older, he chases a bunch of waves downwind then walks back, and repeats about five times.
I'm using my mountaineering watch (A Suunto Ambit) to track my sessions. We did 30 km today, about 25 yesterday and 40 the day before. Not a great metric for wave sailing but I know I start to make more mistakes after around 30km.

The break, shore break is small, a little bigger at high tide, but nothing serious. The outer break can get about logo high but only comes through sporadically. Great conditions for learning now. We've had four days with me on a 4.5 and Knee to shoulder to the odd logo high wave. I'll post some more pictures tonight.

Ryan - hope you're getting the chance to try some takas!

If the Boss's riding matches his beard, we know why he gets the name :D

Tony, nice photoshop on those pics, we all know Alton's a diehard kiter!

So jealous... In my books Oregon runs a very close second to BC for best place in the known universe.

Met my wife for the first time at Short Sands / Oswald, back when you could camp there.

Thanks Ryan! Gotta like that - smaller shore break and return of bigger waves on the outer break!!! The beach must be reconstructing itself now that the river mouth has stayed further south. WooooHoooo!!! :D :D :D

These are at The Rock, Pistol River. Cape Sebastian has been a little small lately.

Trying to figure out how the waves work.

Unknown person doing the walk, he does this intentionally, seems to enjoy it.
