White Rock Seawall

Windsurfing shop talk

by Brad R » Thu Nov 28, 2013 3:57 pm

The City of White Rock is de-commissioning the rail tracks and creating a seawall that runs from white rock to crescent beach, this will likely have access points to the shore and I imagine will make sailing there more accessible. This stretch between the two beaches is a great sailing spot and I am looking forward to having more launch and landing spots!

Does this mean the "secret spot" will be open for business?

Wow! I look forward to a more progressive boardwalk. Perhaps a McDonalds, or a gentlemen's club would really attract more windsurfers!

 Looks like there is a risk of fencing being installed at White Rock East Beach. :?

See the fourth paragraph, "While fencing the length of the promenade was not part of the orders issued Friday – those discussions are ongoing as part of a safety review ordered by the federal agency last summer – waterfront visitors will soon see six-foot-high chain-link fence along the west edge of Bayview Park, at the bottom of the Coldicutt Ravine and from the Finlay Street crossing east to Semiahmoo First Nation land."
