Congrats to Adrien 4.5, Ryan 5.0, Michael 5.2, Dave/C36 4.5 our fearless leaders who dodged (and survived) the train of fast moving logs and tree trunks at 3rd Avenue dawn patrol. Also Jerry and George got out on 5m kites. S 25-35 with huge 10ft swell.

I abstained (chickened out) because the probability of getting hit by a log or tree trunk was about 7% in the vicious shorebreak - beyond my risk/reward threshold.

Later on I along with Clay, Cash, Joe, Jerry and a couple more kiters scored a S 18-28 10m session from 11am-12:30pm in sunny Delta. Lots of practice with toeside curving turns. Even managed to ride toeside upwind today!

Many heartfelt thanks to Graham and the windsurfer who helped me get in when the wind dropped. Not sure who the windsurfer was, when I tried to find you in the parking lot, you may have left. Anyway thanks so much for coming out through the shorepound and debris to help. Also Graham for humping it down the shore to help. I owe you both a cold one.
It was definitely good while it lasted! Good you guys got out in Delta.

No problem George, I'm glad I could help out. I set your board down and I went back out for a few more runs until it dropped, then quickly changed and headed off to work. Darrell

The first time I walked over to the waters edge to launch there was so much wood flowing by there were no gaps. I stood there for what felt like a couple if minutes, then took up a position just below a tree trunk with roots that I figured was stable. Then the set wave came in an cleared house, including the tree trunk! Once the flotilla of wood passed I launched, thankful to have an opening.

Sounds familiar! I waited for an opening between two huge logs. Was Promptly pummelled by a few rolling waves.... But still managed to avoid the logs. Then thought "I better get outta here"!
It was just as precarious coming in!

Loved the slower shutter speed on the first shots Dave. Totally reminded me of sailing there with the lighting and cloud cover. Have fun tomorrow............it looks like it's going to be epic! Try to get up to Lilly Point if you can. I'd love to hear what that place does in 3.7 wind
