If not Tue late afternoon then maybe Wed dawn patrol

Yup, with the tide set up Wednesday morning could be epic.

Just a heads up that this system is supposed to bring very large amounts of rain with it.

Looks like we might get marginal conditions all day, before the rain comes. Sad to miss the storm over night though.

Showed up just before 2pm. Dropped Essex (kiter) off at 3rd ave and headed over to Centennial. Met up with Richi and Michael on the beach, watching the wind lull a bit before picking back up to "big gear" level 15mins later. Rigged the XL to begin with. Marginal/on the cusp of planing for the first 30mins or so, then eventually the wind really filled in and it was just crankin on the outside. The ramps weren't lining up great for jumps unfortunately, but it was nice to rip with a lot of power.

Came in with Michael around 4pm to down rig to the M, but by the time we got back out it was done. Richi timed his sail choice perfectly, scoring the power hour on his smaller stuff whilst Michael and I were coming in to rerig.

Essex said that at 3rd he went right out on his 12 at 2pm, then came in an hour later for 9m and was dialed on that for the rest of the session.

Finally a non-skunked session! Keeping my eye on the actuals for tomorrow's dawn patrol...

It should blow hard for the next few days because I'm flying to Philly early tomorrow. Glad I at least got a bit of slalom sailing in the warm Sunday wind. Have fun everyone!

Super fun session at centennial, started out with 5.6 and 93l and quickly switched to 4.7 and 78l. There weren't allot of ramps for jumping but some nice swell was building out in the middle. Ended the day back back on the 5.6 from 6:00 to 6:30. Nice company and sunshine to boot!
Nice to see that metartaf and windgurus forecast panned out, hopefully the easterlies stay away.
