:D Ja man!
Got 2.5 hrs tow this morning down at Locust. It was raining pretty hard on the way down but it let up as we were pumping up.
Couldn't believe it when the sun came out and wind picked up. Solid 12m and guys were making 10m work with surfboards. I had the 13m and TT but should have gone with the surfboard. Pretty weedy, not a foil board to be seen.

So nice to get out after this wind drought. Locals are calling for an epic week down there coming up!! :) :)

Glad you scored Chuck!

What's it like down there for that archaic sport they call sailboarding??

Thanks Adrien, it was great to get wet and get a session in.

I have found TJ'S forecast to be remarkably reliable so far, I've had some great Hunter Beach Sessions this summer and now that the fall weather (finally  ) appears to be here it is invaluable for chasing the wind. Today was bang on with 14-18 with lulls down to 10 (or lower) so big kites were the call. I doubt it would have been windsurfable as you'd have needed Formula gear and even with the higher tide I had no problem standing almost everywhere. Great weed farming opportunities today, you had to keep the kite in the air (right, Rod?!)

But it does blow hard down there and I've been caught wishing I had brought my windsurfing gear in times past....as a matter of fact I think I'll start bringing it along, especially when the flying triangles start to appear (30+ wind speeds on TJ'S graph!). There is a bit of a hike from the car park to the beach at Locust but it is totally doable, especially if the conditions warrant. Think about the same from a far Doug's Beach parking spot, only with a few stairs thrown in.

To get the goods for windsurfing, apparently the spot to hit is the Marine Park just off Fairhaven:

Sorry, still haven't figured out to embed the image...Alton? Little help?

I've passed the border where guys were using big kites 12-14 and arrived at Locust to, no shit, 25-30 knots. One dude was out on a 4.0 (windsurfing) when I arrived and I made some bad choices involving a 9m kite and a tightly clenched spincter  It was pretty onshore at Locust that day but apparently the Marine Park was dope. I'm actually really looking forward to some great windsurfing this fall, hope we get some good winds and I've been Dangling far too much as of late. Besides, we need to get Alton to get Looping...either sailing or kiting :P

Thanks for posting this Chuck I was looking at the map earlier today trying to figure out where to go. I might check this out on Monday as G-Spot is showing some wind there in the afternoon.

Thanks for the detailed spot info, Chuck! I just invested in a weed fin, so bring on the farming. Sounds like the water state there would be nice and flat, if it's waist deep on high tide (though Chuck-waist deep = head high for us mortals  )??

Having in the past carried my gear from Macdonald and Broadway to Acadia, I'm well prepared for a little hike from parking to launch. ;)

We may be in business for some action a little closer to home tomorrow though! Bring on the big loops :D

Looks like the guys who went to Locust Beach made the right call. At least 2 hours of strong wind.

Amazing session at Locust. Got on the water just before 3. Could of been on my 5m but chose my 7.5m. Really powered for the first how but settled down nicely and stilled powered till 5:30. Nice waves and warm. And no weeds! Nice day. :D
