Aargh, I hate it when the weather AND wind forecast are both useless for activities on a long weekend. Bring on a stormy SE'ly low, or a NW'erly high pressure Pleeease. Long shot for Monday I'd say. Not looking worth a drive anywhere in the meantime.

EC is calling for some Southerly wind over the long weekend so I wouldn't count it out just because GFS doesn't agree.

NIW doesn't line up with EC though, best match is Monday.

Trees moving a little bit here and airport reading 14knots... Please post an OSR if anything develops, Michael!

Don't worry if anything happens I'll let you know. I'll even go out for a light wind practice session if things pick up a bit. I need to get back on the water!

Thanks! Enjoy the light wind training. Hopefully Saturday, Sunday or Monday will bring something over 20knots....

Also, why is the bottom half of Windguru always better than the top half....

 Thanks I needed a laugh. :D

 My guess is the model sees these monster lows out in the Pacific and is guessing their path will pass close enough to us to generate wind, and then as the system moves EAST, ha - tricked you, headed for Alaska (again). :?

Well, if there's any sort of linear correlation between real wind and what GFS says, today ended up being around SE 10g14 all day with windguru saying 5g7... meaning tomorrow should be 16g28!
