Just got back from a few days camping in "the land yacht" at Monck on Nicola Lake. Amazing weather for October - sunny and mid-20s temperatures every day. Arrived at lunch on Saturday and had good 5.5 conditions all afternoon. Sunday was glassy all day, finally getting windy at dusk, so it was a kayaking/beach games day. Then it got interesting. It blew hard all night and we woke up this morning to 19C warmth at 8am and excellent 4.7 conditions. I hit the water at 830 am and sailed until about 10 on my totally flattened 5.0/95 litres, when it backed off and got holey. Packed up and drove up to Kane Valley X-Country trails for some beautiful fall biking before driving back to town. It was 22 C at 1150m elevation when we were biking; made us wonder if we were in California or BC!
