I should of windsurf today. But I really wanted to try kitefoil on my 2.5m. Unfortunately was way overpowered, too windy, swell was looking good, but had so much white water everywhere, creating turbulence for foil. Also it was hard to go upwind against waves, crashed few times, by over foiling. Tried to stay closer too beach with a little flat water and less white water, but low tide kept me still far out. Very challenging foiling day today.

Windsurf 82l board, 3.4 sail fully lit. Of the best and biggest waves I recall seeing at centennial with one set overhead. Had to go way out to find these. It's been a LONG time since the last big windsurfer turn out that I can recall.

This morning was insane !!! After getting debriefed by wingers Adam and Adam, I was first kiter at 3rd Ave on 5m+surfboard in civilized SSE 30g35. Excellent clean waist high breaking waves. As wind ramped up to SSE 40+++ with smoke on the water, keeping speed under control became too challenging so had to come in downwind of the launch area. Walking back was pretty scary with a way overpowered 5m kite ... especially getting sand blasted in the face. Luckily, Lorne landed me before reaching the launch area.

The hardcore kiters on twin tips piled in on their 7m kites for some HUGE boosting action. First time I've seen a full house of kiters and windsurfers in a long time.

Had a few more bouts of playing in the waves between the uncivilized peaks. Best waves were near the end as the wind started to tank. Huge glassy sections between clean breaking waves.

What a day! started on 4.0/89ltr, was okay on the inside but way overpowered on the outside, rigged down to 3.4 and felt dialled in. Amazing waves on the outside!!! Been ages since we’ve had a Boundary bay day like this! Great turnout of windsurfers too!

Boundary bay, 40+knots, 3.7/80L, perfect tide, what a day! Just wished it had lasted a bit longer.
Johnny summed it up best... "That was so fun, won't be selling my windsurf gear anytime soon!"

Bummed to have missed this, I've only sailed at BB once in the last two years. On the other hand, it sounds like I would have been overpowered in my 3.7.

I've had a lot of fun on the windfoil the past couple of years but would love to get in the fin again. Has anyone here done a windsurf trip to SF?
