Finally got a session at Point Roberts! After all those windsurfing sessions out there I knew it would be epic for winging. I've been thinking about doing it for 2 years and figured today was the day! Launched right where I took the video below. Some serious shore pound but timed it well and made it out. Some absolutely ripping wave rides out there. I only ventured out into the middle of the straight a few times, spent most of my time between the point and Gulf Rd, but there were some monster swells out there. Caught one which kicked right up to a steep face, foil breached on top and I did a wicked faceplant! Felt like I broke my nose, was so surprise I didn't have blood pouring down my face. I was a bit rattled after that so I only sailed for another 20 minutes and came in. I saw the shore break was now even bigger than when I launched so I sailed around the tip of the point and landed on the south facing beach. No problem getting in there! An hour and a half session on the 3.5, with the W730 again, it handled those big waves so well. Forgot to mention there were 2 Porpoises and a Sealion playing in the waves out there. Amazing that it's only 10 minutes from Boundary Bay but it's so different out there.
