Worst autumn ever?

Is this the worst ever October and November for wind? It’s the worst I can think for the last 9 years. There are some colours in the forecast for next weekend, could this be the start of an epic December!? Let’s hope so.

2nd this thought.

I recall another really bad winter for wind (2014-2015) an elder Kiter / ex-windsurfer linked it to El Niño events.

I think we are starting to see the impacts of global warming and El Nino.
Some kind of tipping point is reached... is it becoming obvious?

I think this summer was great for Squamish, because thermals and a dryer summer, maybe it was an exceptional year.

I hope we get a good snow pack this year... I think we are in deficit.

A relatively dry November so far... we are trending on the low side of normal precipitation.

It is kind of scary...

Autumn fall.
No wind no snow.
Who is to blame.
Or Whom is to blame.
Who the wtfbc.ca knows.

Actually for me ...

2023 Sep-Nov excluding Squamish = 14 sessions
2022 Sep-Nov excluding Squamish = 7 sessions
2021 Sep-Nov excluding Squamish = 19 sessions

However, this time last year I already had 8 snowboarding sessions at Cypress (opening day Sat Nov 12, 2022).

That's because I'm a climate change denier ... as javier says - "we are not going to align ourselves with communists"

It’s more about quality than quantity.

Personally I didn’t think the wind in Squamish was nearly as consistent as in previous years. I’m there way more than most. Definitely a crappy autumn though. I also thought last autumn sucked but I’m the fussiest human out there.

October and November stank for me, I had an unusual six week wind drought in there, though that's just me. August and September were outstanding though. I recall years in the past where it wasn't unheard of to get three or maybe four good twintip weekends in a row at BBay.
