Weekend Wind?

Any insights on where to kite this weekend? EC is calling for some inflows at Squamish but the weather looks iffy and could be gusty. Gspot shows a possible NW on Sunday morning, maybe a repeat of last Monday's session?

Too much cloud cover for Squamish this weekend. Still waiting for confirmation re: Sun morning westerly. I'm aiming for Locust dawn patrol if the sensor looks good Saturday morning - want to beat the "Ride to Conquer Cancer Bike race" border crossing.

I'm going to Squamish today in spite of clouds. Flat water opportunity but likely gusty/shifty and, worst case, maybe not sailable wind. Trainer kite = plan B.

Hey Mike - How was Squamish today? The wind graph looks pretty bad (weak then gusty) except 11am-12pm looks pretty good.

Expectations exceeded. It worked in spite of clouds and dark cloud "pouring" over the west cliff like a waterfall. 3 solid hours (wish I could have kept it to two). There was some up and down and a little shify-ness but very workable for my purposes . 2+ hours as the soul windsurf with only a handful of kiters (mostly racers). Towards the end of my session Ryan and a couple others arrived giving me a short 2nd wind but some cramping and lack of energy by this time was not to be ignored - I tried.

Don't think one can count on a day like this as typical with clouds.

Congrats to you, Ryan et al. for scoring a good session against the threat of clouds.
Lillooet hit 23C while Vancouver stayed at 12C - perhaps the temperature gradient smoothed out the gusts.

Shall I be the first to jinx it?

So far BWD is playing ball, let's see what the G spot update says! :P

Back from Long Beach (another one off my bucket list) and it was worth the drive (and it will remain on my 'return as soon as possible list' ;) ). The epic wind was a no show (but from I understand the wind forecasts are hit and miss) , but the good news is the swell forecasts are pretty reliable 8-). Here is a summary of the Fathers Day weekend island adventure.
