…without having to walk a mile…

Wondering what people look for as a minimum tide height to get winging on a normal size mast?

I feel like 11ft was my minimum when I used to foil there, but it has been years, someone else can probably comment better. Weeds were also a huge consideration as I recall.

Thanks Adam - that sounds about right. Hard to coordinate the needed tide foil depth and wind at the same time

Using the tide chart on this site, on the right hand side under tides, https://www.tides.gc.ca/en/stations/7590, 3M and you're good. I've done it at 2.8 but it's a bit of a walk, more like a wade through chest deep water until you have enough depth. If you sail out past the mile marker weeds usually aren't a problem.

I forgot to mention, that this is launching from 3rd Ave, there is a lot more of a walk from Centennial.
