Yes it's clearing nicely this morning but it may be a little weak today so go to the Spit instead of Nexen.

I've got a meeting downtown so I'll likely be late.

Nice day at the Squamish Spit. Steady SW 18-22 from 12-4pm confined to the river area. Due to equipment issues with my twin tip kiteboard, I instead windsurfed on 5.2/93L for 1.5 hours. 11 windsurfers including AJ, Gary, Sean, Mike, Francois, Filip, Adrian, Joaquin, Dave/C36 were knocking out hero gybes in the silky smooth river. Vulcan attempts by Mike and Adrian. Good show persistence from Joaquin our newest member to our windsurfing community.

Wind strength in the river sounds about the same as English Bay this afternoon. Anybody score a local session while I was in the office??

Kiters on hydrofoil and 13m kites means 10-12 kt in English Bay.
See http://kiteboardbc.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9919

Squamish river was SW 18-22.

Jericho was not as good as the graph would indicate. 5.8 and 116l was not enough to keep upwind in the fast flooding tide. I switched to a 142l free race board with a 42cm fin and had a nice rip for a few hours.

Hopefully tomorrow's forecast is a little perkier and let's pray that Tuesdays forecast pans out.

Looks like I made the right call! Skipped out of work a couple of hours early and got to the spit rigged up with my 9M in the water by 4pm. A bit of cloud cover and a few lulls made it difficult to stay upwind. I should've switched to my 12M , but I was hanging on. Played for 2 hours.
I thought of hitting Jericho, but the sensors were only reading 17kt at the max. Looked like it was averaging closer to 12 or 13.
Tomorrow should be a fun day. Maybe score a morning session at Jericho, then head to Squamish.
