Regarding the questions about tire shards, a few of us did a comb of the Spit before the wind came up and I didn't find any metal filaments. We did find a bunch of rusty nails, likely from a pallet fire. Brett picked those us and threw them out. I'm still going to use my beater kite until the mats are down...
