Epic pre-work sesh this morning at Acadia.
On the water from 5:10-6:50. Getting absolutely worked on the 5.2m. A nice "heart attack" session is the only way to describe how overpowered I was
multiple catapults and crashes into the sail, one which resulted in a tear in the sail, another that bruised my left forearm pretty nicely.. The thrusters really helped keep the board tame today, which was good. I guess the real wind scared all the kiters off, as I didn't see any out
Total of 4 backloop attempts on port. Got one off a perfect steep wave all the way around and got a nice "scoop" nose first landing (followed by the clew touching the water and me kneeling on the board/ in the sail), but that one felt AMAZING! First time I've actually rotated one (starboard or port) enough so that I'm actually over the board for the landing! Unreal.
2 forwards on the way in for good measure, too much wind to gybe the 5.2 well anyways..
Saw Dave huck into some good backie attempts. He was making easier work of carving on some of the faces with a slightly more appropriate setup (4.5/92)
Wish I could've stuck around longer, but my 5.2m was probably happy to be rolled up and put away. Even made it in to work early!
Hope the first part of Gulf Road was good, and that it comes back on for Dave's "cool down" session
It would be a shame to finish a 4.0m Acadia day on a 6.1 in spooky wind after a border crossing
