It just dawned on me why there was so much debris in the water today, of course from the flooding! There was crap everywhere and the tide wasn't that high. At one point I actually had to stop and jump off my board because there was so much stuff in front of me there was no way to get through. That's when I turned around and went back closer to shore. Tomorrows tide is even higher than last weeks so the morning will be bad at Acadia I'm sure.

Tried out Iona:) First went to Acadia but didn't look like much was happening, after leaving I decided to swing by Iona beach, much more wind but also too many debris for comfort, got in half an hour on 5.0/89ltr before I called it quits. Nice area though, waves were small, maybe knee high, but smooth and spread out good, it was fun to sail, and felt really warm, fine with bare hands, water was knee to waist deep with soft muddy bottom. Place could have potential if the debris clean up. Also washrooms and outside water hose you can use to clean gear and grassy sheltered area to rig. A park ranger stopped by when I was derigging, said windsurfing was fine there but kiting wasn't allowed and there were signs though I didn't see any, sounded like he had a bit of a personal issue with kiting.

Some video of the water:

You know Iona is a sewage treatment plant,I worked building the pipe in the 80’s,stinky at low tide.

Tough to get a proper surf break around Vancouver. Wreck beach had a nice break around 145pm yesterday, shoulder high, in about 100X50m area (right side on this old picture). Windsurfing would be hard there, not much wind... (8-12ft tide):

Iona has nice rollers next to the jetty, but when it's shoulder high at WB, it's waist high at Iona. It gets less muddy farther along the beach.

Acadia is your best bet, when on, Aside turns on as well:
