Surprisingly good for a cloudy day. Not too gusty S (not SW) 16-20 on 8m (shared with Alton JR) + surfboard. Smaller than yesterday but clean waves at the river mouth.

Scored the late morning session in flat river water in SW 16-20 on 8m+surfboard ... then handed over the 8m to Alton JR for her early afternoon flat water session on the leeward side of the eastern sand bar ... then the wind crapped out after 2pm.

Mellow but fun day. Only SW 16-18 with flat water. Started on 12m+surfboard (with full depower) then switched to 8m+surfboard when Alton JR was done. So much fun working the 8m and cranking hero gybes in the river.

Busy day at the Spit with all the exposed sandbars. Lots of jockeying for position in the smooth river water. 7m+surfboard was the perfect choice for chasing Alton JR way up wind steady SW 20-25.

Early start at 10am SW 20 on 8m+TT in the honey hole until it got too shallow.

Took a break until the river tide dropped low enough for smooth flat water. Perfect SW 25 conditions for cranking gybes on my 5m+surfboard ... until the 5m buckled then self rescued.

My hypothesis was that my replacement strut hose was too stiff for a good seal ... so I replaced it again with a spare hose for my Airush Ultra which is way more flexible. Tested the flexible hose on the 5m kite for 15 minutes before it got too light ... all good again :D

The Sunday Squamish low tide did not produce the classic flat water I recall from past. There was some flat water on the port (cliff side) but it was a bit busy and there was the fear factor of heading into the sand bar before a move. Other areas further upriver were less busy the but shallow/not knowing what's under was also on mind. So after 40 minutes or so on 4.8/windsurf I switched to 7M kite & surfboard. Super nice on Nexan side away from the crowds in warm blue water and playful knee high "waves" that are still fun on the kite surfboard. Plenty of kite power to let it drift and work front and backside slashes. Getting less and less happy about the commute.

I leave it in first gear and do one-pedal driving, just like in an EV. I don't need to move my foot over to the brake pedal.

Seeing how I'm not trying flakas, I guess one pedal driving is more my "speed.".

Finished work in the afternoon only to get 0.5 hrs on 5m+surfboard in SW 20-24 before it crapped out after 2pm.

The one hour from Westview to Ironworkers is really starting to bug me. If I could safely park my van and gear overnight around Taylor way, I would seriously consider cycling between east van and upper levels.

The foiling from Porteau Cove has been fantastic and cuts down on part of the commute. I don’t know if the 14-18 knots we’ve been getting consistently in July is normal or not. Is there anything “normal” anymore?
