When it's absolutely too cold

Day 39 - you're not missing much. Only 3-5 cm of fresh over groom so I keep bottoming out snowboarding. Lighting a little flat.

Don't come on out

Yup...we went up early and decided to go snowshoeing instead of skiing a couple cm new in flat light. Had a beautiful morning roam in the old growth forest, all to ourselves.

Snowing hard when we left, so skiing will probably improve as the day progresses.

With my contrasty goggles I didn't think the flatish light was a big deal. A little bit of freshies over a bit of crust. Off the Sky chair was better. No wait on the secret chairs, and a few minutes on the main chairs.

Tomorrow may be mini-pow.

Looks like an amazing pow day with perfect visibility. Too bad I got some important business to attend to today. Best of luck.

Sometimes you have to take pleasure at what you do for a living. And this is one of those.

Enjoy it!

Well, it was a bit of a surprise today. No real powder. It must have warmed up at some point last night then froze as there was only a couple of CM of snow on a crust. Blue skies and sunshine shared with about a million people. The line-ups at Lions, Eagle, and Raven were so long right from the start that I was reduced to riding the Midway and Easy Rider chairs with the five year olds. When I left at 10:45 AM the 3b lot was about 80% full and I saw lots of losers driving up the hill unaware as to what was in store for them.

Day 40 - Poor groomers (if they even groomed at all). Flat light. Why did I bother coming? ... Oh yes ... for the poutine :D
