Sunday looks to have potential, 10 degrees with S switching to SW in the afternoon.

Tides at White Rock okay from 1:00 on.

If Windguru is correct then a morning session at Centennial but BWD is calling for more of a light SW so that might mean White Rock or winging for me.

BWD and windguru seem to be in the same page now. I’m thinking 9:30 FT freeride. Packed and ready but I have a couple of chores to do and maybe better to wait for the switch to some west.

Got a pleasant kite session at ferry terminal. I first went to 3rd and Centennial. At that time the big wind Shadow did not look kite friendly. Almost went for windsurf but unsure of wind strength and Leary of possible more SW. Left for ferry terminal on a lull and SW direction passing Alton going the other way. Agreed FT was the best odds. Teamed up on self launch set up. Solid 9M with odd playful knee high wave. There was some nicer swell on just off the little island right by the end of the terminal but wind started to fade so long downwinder back launch area to be safe. Wind picked up again but called it a day. Home before noon so time for a nap. Looking at sensors show Centennial maybe workable late morning with more wind but I had no idea. Interesting mix of surfboard/kite, TT/kite, foil/kite, windsurf foil, wing foil and maybe also a regular (fin) windsurf when I left the ferry terminal.

Ferry Terminal fun, well until I lost my wing! I was having a great time up until that moment, getting used to the wing but today was the windiest I've sailed it and it was a challenge. Had some nasty crashes and got caught in my straps a few times. By the end of the session though I was feeling comfortable in the straps and was starting to get some nice down wind rides, even getting in some nice turns. Got one jibe in the straps ,came off the foil but and managed to sail switch for a few seconds. The wind and swell really picked up after 11 and at that point I needed a break. Came in but the shore break was big and I got tangled up in my leases so I went back for another reach and came back in this time I stopped and thought I would change my wing leash to my other hand hoping it would make my exit easier, very bad idea! As soon as I loosened the leash a gust came and ripped the wing out of my hands sending me into a panic. Luckily Doug was there to save it before it flew across the causeway. Sorry Doug for being such a kook and making you run after my wing, especially on that nasty rocky shore, it's hard enough walking in booties on that stuff left along chasing a rogue wing.

Chimichanga tastes so much better after 4 hours of bone chilling session on the water with 5m and then 8m

Yummy cholesterols

A day of gluttony ... Session 1 of 3

Mike and I arrived early at the Ferry Terminal and tethered launched our 9m kite at 8am in steady SSW 20. We had the water all to ourselves until 10am when a lull arrived. The wind soon returned and continued to ramp up until my 9m+surfboard was too much to handle SSW 25 at 11:30am.

Never been so far upwind before ... almost reached the mile marker. It was the usual Ferry Terminal chop but found some sweet waves for some fun bottom turns.

Didn't see more than 10 kiters at the Ferry Terminal ... where was everybody today?

Session 2 of 3

FOMO - wondering where everyone was so went to check out 3rd Avenue. Only 1 kiter and 3 wingers. Scored 1 hour on 9m + surfboard in SSE 20-22 with some fun knee high waves ... so much smoother than Ferry Terminal. Wind started clocking/tank at 1:30pm so quit while I was ahead.
