First in the river with Deb and Doug. Sweet 2.5 hrs in steady SW 20-25 on 6m+surfboard over silky smooth water before the weekend crowds arrived.

Sweet 6m+surfboard day all the way for me in steady SW 20-25. River was smooth for a short while but quickly lost it luster.

Great day today again. Better than yesterday. Started early on 5m and foil. Then tt after 3pm when wind pick up on 7m.
Francis was killing it on wing whole day non stop

Yes indeed! That was a great day! working on my jibes on heel and toe side and also switching foot at the same time, I hardly felt the 5hrs TOW. Hope tomorrow will be a repeat session again

Fun working on tacks with Mike on my 8m+surfboard in steady SW 20 ... got one. Nice way to end my session lit on 6m in SW 25.

After working on tacks on 8m+surfboard in steady SW 20 ... finally spent a full hour waterstarting my kite foil. Got up but too underpowered in the estuary in SW 14 on 8m.

Worked on waterstarting the kite foil with 8m for an hour in SW 20-22. I scored a 10 second ride but still struggling. I was told next time to try pointing higher upwind (which explains why I always feel underpowered when trying to taxi) ... and when waterstarting dive the kite way more aggressively then quickly send it up.

After a rescue back to the spit (from Nexen), the wind ramped up perfect for a final epic 6m+surfboard session to regain my self-respect. Steady SW 25g30 everywhere (inside and out) with clean knee high swell.

We tried to launch from the Mamquam blind channel at the Oceanfront construction site gate. There was enough wind to slog upwind but the incoming tide and accompanying strong current meant we were only able to maintain or lose ground. We all ended up shuffling along the bank until the mouth of the blind channel where it was very windy. I think it would be possible to sail on the outgoing tide. This was on freestyle fins, those with foils or big fins might be able to do it at any time.

The chop in front of Sp’akw’us Feather Park (Nexan) was the biggest I've ever seen it. This was just before high tide. Unfortunately it was very messy and unpredictable too, I'm not sure if the new breakwaters contribute to this.

Launched from the channel Saturday too with some difficulty on the wing foil as the wind was variable in the channel. After some paddling and waiting, a good enough gust got me out in a few reaches. I think the new waterfront makes for good swell at low tide and at a few spots right infront of the beaches at higher tides.

Word from the developers is that waterfront should be open a year from now pending them finding enough landscapers and the mamquam blind channel launch should be open through then.

Wind sports beach is looking pretty skinny for launching kites and people trying to get upwind around the boulders. Swimming beach is looking like a better angled option.

A later start but Squamish delivered steady SW 18-24. Perfect for 8m+surfboard.
