Went to the spit from 12-2. Crazy standing waves in the river deep into the sound. Swam back in when the wind lulled. SWS was getting the boat transport figured out with some trial low tide runs. Nice to get a ride up the river. Strong current with the recent rain and ultra low tide.

Thanks for the report. I asked SWS to post a video of boat shuttle experience and embarkment procedure.

Porteau delivered a classic inflow today. 5.0 for 2hrs then upsize to 5.4 until my arms couldn’t hold on to my sail anymore. Enjoyed by 6 windfolilers and 2 wingers :D

Another classic inflow day, more steadier and stronger than yesterday. Started on my 5.4 then downsize to 5.0 and so dialed in, 4hrs Tow :D only 2 windfoilers and 1wingers ;)

What would be the logistics for kiting there? Could it be done safely?

Just drive up to Squamish to kite. It's possible to drift launch at Porteau at low tide but very sketchy, there is a wind shadow and if you end up down wind you are pretty much fucked.

Hi Francis,
From where do you launch at Porteau Cove?
On a regular day, 7.5m sail is big enough for windsurfing?
Thanks,

Thanks,

Either from the boat launch or just before the campground side, more open to the wind, but you need a really good padded booties, tons of barnacle.

I think your 7.5 is equivalent to my 5.4 on a foil which is my most used sail there. Cheers
