Better than expected. Most of Eagle chair runs were open. Favorite was 10cm of fresh side hits down Wind Jammer. Long wait times. Only 5 runs from 9:30-11:30 before enjoying a bacon cheeseburger and free hot chocolate for lunch with LeopardSkin.

Hoping Lions chair will open tomorrow (Sunday)

Carving 360s! Switch riding! Like riding a bicycle.

Snowing heavily. Each run was replenished with fluffy Xmas pow. Prime roast beef with all the fixings, rum and hot chocolate, dessert. Santa and his elves. All the Squampton/ Locarno peeps also in attendance. Live music. What a great opening day!

OMG !!! What an epic day. Started at 9:15 ... finished at 3:45 ... my longest day at Cypress.

Glad to see the usual suspects (Jens, Doug, Bob, Bill, Brian, King, Warren ...). In the morning, mainly stayed on Jasey Jay and Cascade for 20 cm of fresh ... then finished the morning with a glorious run down Olympic before grabbing lunch.

Lions chair opened at noon as promised for the best treat of the season. Knee high untracked pow down Rainbow (4x), Bowen (5x) and Midway (5x). It continued to dump like crazy filling in my tracks from the previous run.

Finished the day with a final glorious run down Olympic.

Drove home in the dark with huge smiles

Jens - I hope you caught the afternoon session. It was f*n amazing.

Yet another long session (9am-2:15pm w/o a break) at Cypress. Spent the entire day on Bowen (10cm fresh) and Midway (20cm fresh). Midway was untracked wavy terrain (very surfy) but became mildly crusty at the bottom. One run down Rainbow (10cm) was good but not as exciting as Bowen. Morning fog cleared at noon so I could stop playing it slow and safe with bumps and ditches becoming clearly visible.

Finished the day with an epic ride down Olympic (10-15cm fresh).

Alton - didn't have the patience to wait for Lions, called it quits and went for boundary bay instead. Got some epic conditions there as well:)

Shorter session (9-11am) due to warming temperatures and wet snow / rain. Spend most of the morning on Bowen + Midway, a couple of Rainbow, a couple of Jasey Jay + Cascade then finished off with Olympic.

Still 10cm of fresh left over from yesterday but heavier and sticky at lower elevations.

Sky Chair is scheduled to open in the afternoon of Friday, Dec 26.

Another long day tomorrow ... load up on carbs at your Xmas feasting
