When it's absolutely too cold

Day 15 - Despite heavy fog on main runs, I did the "walking tour" 8 times down the "Super Secret" run. Tons of untracked to skiers right ... and fog-free

Guess which run ... starts with "Olym" ... ends with "pic"

Day 16 - Low expectations were greeted with a dumping snow. Caught the Raven Chair opening. Crazy Raven was hero with fresh snow but Coyote 7 was groomed - WTF?

Plan B - Scored 3 runs down First Sun with knee high pow. Called it quits when wet snow and heavy conditions arrive at noon. Finished off with Olympic (very heavy and tracked out).

Day 17 - Last chance before torrential rains arrive. 10-15 cm of fresh and continued to snow in the morning. Jasey Jay was hero mini-pow (10cm) for 2 epic runs ... but Lower Fork was sticky. Then had Coyote 7 all to myself with 10-15cm of non-stop shredding (6x). When wet snow turned to rain, finished off with sticky ride down Olympic to my car.

Totally soaked by 11am ... glad I brought dry clothes to change into.

Day 18 - It's been a long stretch of inactivity since Sunday. Firm conditions turning to lumpy sugar over ice ... yuk. Anyway, got to work on carve 360 and revert carves all morning.

Day 19 - Bluebird morning. Firm hero corduroy perfect for cranking turns until 11am which turned to lumpy / bumpy sugar.

Day 21 - Bluebird morning but still the worst conditions of the season. Poor grooming, firm, dead baby heads, lumpy and bumpy.

Fun fact: According to Taos ski resort, "a bluebird morning is a morning after a storm when the sun is shining bright without a cloud in the sky, and the world around you is covered in a fresh coat of fluffy snow from the night before."

Day 22 - Way better than yesterday. No ice or dead baby heads. Even sections of hero groomers. Got plenty of revert carves on Collins.

Day 23 - Yet another bluebird day ... and best groomer day of the season. Hero firm corduroy held up all morning - perfect for laying down trenches and revert carves. Super fun day with Doug and LeopardSkin
