When it's absolutely too cold

Day 8 - Total bullshit. Lots of lift issues. Me and the regulars left early if frustration.

Day 9 - Fantastic day without LeopardSkin. New snow all morning perfect for some cushy riding. Favorite runs were Hutch (poached) and Rip Cord (under the Sky chair) ... like riding waves (bottom turns and cut backs) ... Enjoyed by most of the usual suspects :D

Day 10 - Yet another great day without LeopardSkin. Fun riding with Mike. Followed him on Sky but with the fog and vertigo I accidentally ended up riding down Rip Cord (under the lift). It was so good I did Rip Cord three times. Poached Hutch four times. Slushy snow made for some super grippy turns.

Even more torrential rain Thursday night. Glad Mike and I scored yesterday's session.

Day 11 - Looks a little brown after the torrential rains we've been having. Still nice to crank some turns ... even with LeopardSkin

Xmas Eve morning snow was soft & cushy. The crowd wasn't too bad either, with the lift lines 0 to 2 mins.

Without the sick Trump loving Bastard, it was sooooooo much fun! :D

Seriously? After all that torrential rain last night there's still some snow left?

Avalanche.ca was forecasting 25-50 CM of snow for last night then another 25-40 CM for this morning with a freezing level of 1250 M. I arrived at the parking lot before 8 AM and according to the thermometer in my car the temperature outside was 0 degrees. Did I mention that it was raining heavily at the parking lot? The rain turned to sleet about 45 minutes later and by the time the lifts opened it was snowing. Got on the first Lions Chair with James then had fabulous turns in untracked snow on the fat skies on Horizon, Humpty Dumpty, Upper Cat Track, Hutch, upper and lower PSG and Lower Fork. After several laps I did my favourite exit run for the first time this year. I was shocked at how few people were on the hill and no lineups while I was there (until 10:30 AM). According to the Cypress website they had received 45 CM at mid mountain. Superb!

Doug - thanks for the report. I'm assuming from your report that most of the Lions and Eagle runs were open without any signs of "brown" patches.

I hope Cypress recovers from all the recent snow lost when we (Silver Xtra) return from the Xmas blackout period.
