Cypress Mountain 2022/ 2023

When it's absolutely too cold

by LeopardSkin » Tue Feb 21, 2023 2:18 pm

Tuesday morning.

Nice pristine frozen hardpack with delicious death cookies.

The experience was very nostalgic. The death cookies were the same shape and hardness of the glass marbles I had as a wee child. Thinking of the poignant experiences of my formative years made me both chuckle and weep with gratitude. Thank you Cypress Mountain! I will never forget this special morning!

PS the mini snowboard cross/ ski cross track is fun

Great to see you back on skis Alton. Now we just need you to dust off the windsurfing gear too!

LeopardSkin's weapon of the day:

2022 Burton Kilroy 3D Camber 150 cm snowboard. I call it my "girl board."

2022 Burton Malavita EST bindings.

Salomon Synapse boots. Discontinued, I think.

This morning I tried the revert carve aka reverse euro carve.

Day 55 - Fun in the bluebird sun working on angulation. Starting to feel and ride my edges. No wait times on Eagle chair until 10:30.

Didn't see any of the usual suspects today.

Day 56 - Fun carving exercises and skiing with Mike. Fantastics groomers on Panaroma, Lower Jasey Jay and Windjammer. Other runs had icy patches - worst of all the Crazy Raven ice rink.

Surprisingly short wait times on Eagle chair for a weekend
