Cypress Mountain 2022/ 2023

When it's absolutely too cold

Day 37 - No sun (ie. false advertising). Foggy at upper levels but manageable with good groomers but lower levels were firm. Humpty Dumpty was amazing for tons of aggressive turns.

Day 39 - Better than yesterday ... not as firm. Mix of good and bad grooming. Mix of cloud and sun.

Hey WTF slackers, I was up at Cypress last friday. Blue bird for you guys on sky chair I'm assuming, but socked in clouds for me and my son from Middle of colins to the bottom of the chair. I got sucked in to thinking it was going to be sunny all day up there, but unfortunatley not. Is there a way of knowing or predicting what height the cloud level is at and when its moving up and down the mountain? Every chair I took had an expert with totally different opinions. Thanks, looking forward to making a better call next time.
cheers, Rich

Hey Richi - I general go by https://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/C ... n/6day/mid ("View hourly") so see the forecasted cloud cover.

However, last week many of the sunny forecasts did not materialize.

When AltonJr was a toddler, I too felt the anxiety of losing my favorite (and only) child in the fog.

I always consult with Alton. He's the only expert who matters.
