Cypress Mountain 2021/ 2022

When it's absolutely too cold

by Brian C » Thu Dec 23, 2021 4:41 pm

Fun morning skiing with Jerry and Alan K, once they got the chairs de-iced and running (at Eagle) by 930 am. Bonus sunny skies made up for the wait.
On Eagle, the untracked was soft but the groomers weren’t- go figure?? Snow was better on Lions side, with run-of-the day being lower Cat Track, with soft powder on small bumps :).
Alan and I had fun doing powder-eights down an untracked run beside Midway Chair; we earned those sweet turns by working our way down sun-affected Bowen Face, then cutting over through the trees.
Coverage is really good for this time of year; they even opened Raven today. Glad to score another good day before the mandatory Christmas break/silver pass blackout.

Why the short lines? My kids want to go skiing over the holidays but I’m worried about lift lines. Is night skiing a decent option? My kids aren’t great skiers, they just want to get out.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I've never been during the holidays (blackout period for Silver Pass). In general, if you plan to arrive before 8am you should get a good hour before the late arrival crowd.
