Winter Kiting, where to go with the family?

Hello,

I'm looking towards the December doldrums and considering a trip to La Vantana. My partner doesn't kitesurf and we'll have our 3 year old. Does anyone have experience with bringing their family to La Vantana and would recommend a resort? I'm also open to other destinations, that is the one that comes to mind.

Another possibility is Vietnam. I guess a lot depends on your wife. Vietnam might be a lot more interesting to her. Of course it's a much longer flight and I don't know their covid situation. We took our kids to Vietnam when they were 5 and 7. They don't remember much from it, but it was a great trip.

Thanks for the ideas, I had a chat with some colleagues today and may end up passing on Mexico, Vietnam maybe just a bit for for a short 1 week trip. SE asia will be on the list once the kid grows a little. Low vaccination rates got me considering waiting for next year despite the low risk of hospitalization with a vaccine... hmm.

Slappy what does los barilles offer that would make it a better option?

LB is a real town, on the #1 highway and would exist with or without windsports.
LV is a remote spot that people only really go for windsports.

Pros for LB:
- A real functioning town
- Easy 1 hr drive from the airport
- Hotel and resort options more consistent with what non-kiters would expect
- Better waves
- More and better sand beach

Pros for LV:
- Better wind
- 90% of the people you meet will be other kiters (not a pro for your family though)
- 50% of the people you meet will be from the Gorge (just kidding, maybe 20%)
