Depower Slipping in Cleat Fixed

Kitesurfing shop talk

For years I've been frequently replacing the depower line on my Ozone bar when it started slipping through the cleat. As it became more and more frequent, I experimented with different types of line (with core, without core, dyneema ...) and different diameters ... with little success.

Several months ago I order a replacement cleat (Clamcleat Aerocleat With Cl211Mkii ... CL826-11/R) from Steveston Marine for only $20 CAD and it finally arrived from the UK.

Problem solved! No more slipping depower. Oddly, the condition of the teeth in the original cleat visibly looks identical to the new one ... even after cleaning and sharpening.
