Hey Alton, that's great! It's so nice to see you out kiting with your daughter. I'm going to try and get my daughter winging this summer. Although after seeing my wetsuit yesterday she seemed a little worried!

Strong gusts today. SW 20-30. First on 9m+surfboard in silky smooth river water ... but too overpowered to enjoy it. Switching to 7m was way more civilized. Best wind was outside - far from the Spit.

Hey Alton,
I was not able to post a new topic to your forum, not sure why, so I have put my 'left behind harness' post in the squamish topic.
I left my harness on deck at squamish this afternoon about 200pm .
A Black dakine seat harness xl. If anybody saw it, please let me know.
Thanks

What an epic day! Morning session was fully powered 9m+surfboard in steady SW 25 with some silky smooth water in the river. Afternoon session was SW 25g30 perfect for 7m+surfboard. Fun hitting wavelets down at Nexen ... then cranking hero gybes over flat water at the Spit.

Best part was watching AltonJR nail toeside rides with 9m and 7m + TT on her first day. It took me 1 week to get my toeside rides.

What a treat today! 7m+surfboard in SW 20-25 was more than enough in the silky smooth river with blazing fast current. Plenty of surfboard riders cranking fast turns.

Thought I was clear of the log in the river but still managed to hit it. Fortunately, there was enough silicone glue holding my centre fin to the board. I tore it off and tucked it in my wetsuit.

Didn't realize how important the centre fin is. Without it the board feels too loose especially going over waves.

Ouch! If that's was the big log at the south part of the flat area then that would be a hard hit. When I first saw that log it was the strangest thing. Due to the super strong current going out against it, it looked like it was going up river!

Wonder what the heat wave will do to Squamish? It looks like some westerly action so considering (depending on conditions) wind foil and/or kite options at Jericho or maybe Acadia.

The river current was so strong, I was feeling vertigo so I stayed in the river mouth.

Tomorrow I plan to take Alton JR to Acadia so she can work on her light wind skills.

Alton JR and I went for a quick session to try out our new kites and quick it was. The 12m Airush Ultra flew well in SW 16-20 but it was difficult to make a fair assessment threading through the crowds and jockeying for position during the lulls.

Best wind was in the river mouth and just south of the sandbar for an hour ... then it was confined to the river mouth which became super crowded.

Left after an hour of frustration with the crowds ... especially with the newbies clustered on the sandbar.

We'll try again tomorrow (Monday) when hopefully everyone is working.
