Many thanks to AJ and Michael for the OSRs and making my day. Rushed to 3rd Ave and scored an awesome 1.5 hrs on 9m+surfboard in SE 18-24. Favorite waves were waist high by the boat launch. Good turn out - at least 10 kiters at 3rd Avenue.

Skiing and kiting on the same day is the gift of Vancouver

Fingers crossed for SW tomorrow

Rebound. Had discounted the forecast as east wind and cold temps, but got the call mid-afternoon that temp was 7 and it was SE and water was rolling! Change in plans - headed down for a look-see. Arrived to tanking wind and puzzled looks. Seems wind was deciding what it wanted to do. Several poked back out while I rigged as it rebounded. First session in a while there was enough power to drive upwind with Tom (made it as far as 3rd and rounded 'the log' without much effort. Only trouble was the wind kept coming. Stopped to add full downhaul and some outhaul and this offered some relief, for a while. Came in around 4 pm when big gear was getting silly to see if there was enough time to re-rig - no, so back out for one last rip. Luckily the wind was breathing in and it was fairly manageable. Tsawwasseb seemed to think the 'vent' prototype in his sail needed some more R&D. Unexpected and fun as I had no/low expectations.
