Green lake snowkiting

Kitesurfing shop talk

Random that this post just came up. My buddy from Squamish has been asking, Green Lake is frozen if you stay away from the spit and the floatplane docks at Nick North.

Were a bunch of ice skaters on it on Saturday with a bit of wind as well. I've been looking for somewhere to buy a snowskate for my windsurfing gear. Alta and Alpha are both skatable as well, just watch for thermal pockets causing holes in the ice.

Hopefully Saturday there will be outflow. But it will start snowing which may affect wind, unfortunately.

Steadiest I’ve ever had here. Most guys are on 7m plus 4 wingers

Is it me or snowkiting takes more energy out of me?

More outflow tomorrow? Tomorrow could be a repeat of today at Green Lake.

Fingers crossed

Tomorrow will be another outflow but not sure how the snow and cloud would affect the wind

On standby. Fingers crossed

Damn that was fun. Started out on 7m + snowboard at 11am under blue sunny sky. In the stronger gusts I would crank upwind just like riding a twin tip on the water.

Toasty warm in my ski gear but only felt the brutal wind chill when I took off my gloves to de-rig.

Surprisingly, busy on Green Lake considering how small the parking lot was.

When I left the wind cranked up to 25+ knots. Looking forward to the next major outflow.
